art appreciation lectures

art appreciation lectures were held on the 15th and 16th of may, at the cn college of fine arts by mr. amitabh madia from ahmedabad & mr. anand gadapa from baroda. they are both well known in the field of arts. the participants benefitted greatly from their in depth knowledge on art history. they spoke about the different genres of art as well as the different art periods ranging from pre-historic, ancient art to modern, contemporary art and artists, these lectures covered various aspects such as 'how to view a work of art' and how artists work and their thought process. the interactive sessions at the end of each lecture was very informative.
amitabh madia & anand gadapa are art-historians and artists, have exhibited their work and authored for various publications and have given lectures on art history across the country.

art workshop at c n college of fine art

as alumni of the college we (arpit biloria and deviba wala) coordinated an event “ART REALM” summer art workshops at the sheth c.n college of fine arts, under the guidance of mr ratilal kansodaria , principal of the fine arts college, as well as director of  c n vidyavihar mr tushar purani & education co-ordinator ms trupti rawal.
it began on the 10th of april with a lecture by mr jayanti naik and ended with a display of works by participants created during the workshops.
the courses and workshops were conducted by professional tutors and eminent artists, who gave individual attention and guidance and  class demonstrations. those who attended the workshop had the opportunity to also interact with and talk about their work with artists like vrundavan solanki and  mukesh salvi as well as renowned architect hasmukh patel, the enthusiasm and confidence of the  participants to be able to continue work on their own on completion of their course is worth noting. the workshops covered painting / drawing, terracotta / introduction to ceramics and a traditional metal casting method called 'dokhra'.
